Umbrella Studios Property Responsibility Disclaimer
The following terms and conditions outline the responsibility of Umbrella Studios in ensuring a safe and reliable
recording environment. By utilizing our studio facilities for recording sessions, all clients agree to the terms
outlined herein. Please read these terms carefully before proceeding with any recording sessions at Umbrella
Studios.

Property Responsibility:
​
1.1. Umbrella Studios shall not be held responsible for any belongings, personal effects, or property of clients
or their associates that may be misplaced, damaged, or lost within the studio premises during the recording
session.
​
1.2. Clients are solely responsible for their personal belongings, including but not limited to instruments,
recording equipment, accessories, bags, wallets, personal devices, and any other valuable or fragile items.
​
1.3. Clients must ensure the proper handling and safekeeping of their personal belongings at all times within
the studio premises.
​
1.4. Umbrella Studios does not provide insurance coverage for any client properties or belongings brought into
the studio.
​
1.5. Clients acknowledge that the studio premises may contain multiple rooms and shared spaces utilized by
various individuals and third parties. Therefore, securing personal belongings is highly recommended.

2. Safety Precautions:
​
2.1. Umbrella Studios shall provide a secure and controlled environment, incorporating safety measures to the
best of their ability.
​
2.2. Secure storage facilities, such as lockers or designated storage areas, may be provided by Umbrella
Studios for temporary holding of personal belongings during the session. However, the act of utilizing these
storage facilities is solely at the discretion and risk of the client.
2.3. Clients are encouraged to take all necessary precautions to secure their personal belongings at all times.
Umbrella Studios recommends using lockable storage containers, bags, or cases for valuable items.
2.4. Clients shall adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and instructions provided by Umbrella Studios or its
representatives to ensure the safety of their property within the studio premises.
3. Liability Waiver:
3.1. Clients acknowledge and agree that Umbrella Studios and its employees, representatives, and affiliates
shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, theft, or misplacement of personal belongings within the studio
premises, regardless of the cause or circumstances.
3.2. Clients agree to fully release, indemnify, and hold harmless Umbrella Studios, its employees,
representatives, and affiliates from any claims, demands, actions, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising out of
or in connection with the loss, damage, theft, or misplacement of personal belongings within the studio
premises.
4. Assumption of Responsibility:

4.1. Clients shall assume full responsibility for their personal belongings and property at all times while within
the studio premises.
4.2. By utilizing Umbrella Studios for any recording session, clients acknowledge that they have read,
understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in this document.
4.3. Umbrella Studios reserves the right to modify, update, or amend these terms and conditions at any time,
with changes becoming effective upon posting. By proceeding with any recording sessions at Umbrella
Studios, clients fully agree to the terms and conditions stated above.
5. Refund & Cancellation Policy:
5.1. Booking Confirmation & Deposits
All bookings must be secured with a deposit or full payment. Unless otherwise stated in writing, deposits are
non-refundable.
5.2. Client-Initiated Cancellation or Rescheduling
Cancellations or reschedule requests made more than 14 days before the session will receive a full refund,
excluding the non-refundable deposit.
Cancellations or reschedule requests made between 14 days and 48 hours before the session will result in
50% of the total session fee being retained.
Cancellations or reschedule requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled session will not be eligible for a
refund or credit.
5.3. Studio-Initiated Cancellation
If Umbrella Studios must cancel a session due to illness, equipment malfunction, or other unforeseen
circumstances, clients will receive a full refund of all payments made or may choose to reschedule the session
at no additional cost.
5.4. Refund Timing and Method
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of a valid cancellation request and returned via the same method
used for the original payment unless otherwise necessary.
5.5. No-Show / Late Arrival / Change of Mind
No refunds or credits will be issued for change-of-mind cancellations.
No-shows or arrivals more than 15 minutes late without prior notice will forfeit the full session fee.
Lost session time due to late arrival will not be compensated or extended.
5.6. Rescheduling Conditions
Rescheduling is permitted if requested in writing and subject to studio availability.Rescheduling requests made more than 14 days before the booking date will not incur additional fees.
Requests made within 14 days but more than 48 hours before the session will incur a 25% rescheduling fee.
6. Shipping & Delivery Policy (Digital Media):
6.1. Scope of Delivery
Umbrella Studios provides delivery of completed recordings, mixes, masters, and all other media assets in
digital format only, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6.2. Delivery Method
All digital media is delivered electronically via one or more of the following methods:
Secure download link
Email attachment (where file size permits)
Cloud-based shared folder (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, or equivalent)
Client-provided storage method as arranged prior (USB/SSD handover, additional fees may apply)
6.3. Delivery Timeframes
Standard delivery of digital files will occur within the timeframe communicated at the time of booking or
completion of the session.
Most projects are delivered within 3–7 business days, unless the project scope or client requests require
additional time.
Rush delivery may be available upon request and may incur additional fees.
6.4. Confirmation of Delivery
Digital files are considered successfully delivered once:
A download link or file transfer confirmation has been sent to the client’s nominated email address; and
Umbrella Studios has verified that the link is active and the files are accessible.
6.5. Client Responsibility for Access
Clients are responsible for:
Ensuring their email address is active and correct;
Confirming they have adequate storage space to download files;
Downloading and backing up all delivered files. Umbrella Studios is not responsible for lost, deleted, or expired
downloads after the delivery window has passed.
6.6. Redelivery Policy
If files need to be resent due to client-side issues (lost emails, expired links, accidental deletion), Umbrella
Studios will provide one complimentary redelivery.
Additional redelivery requests may incur a small administrative fee.6.7. Physical Shipping
Umbrella Studios does not provide physical shipping of CDs, USBs, printed media, or any other physical goods
unless arranged in advance.
Any requested physical media deliveries will incur additional production and postage costs, quoted to the client
prior to dispatch.

7. Courses, Teachings, Lessons & Workshops – Refunds and Returns Policy:
​
7.1. Scope
This section applies to all payments made for courses, teachings, lessons, workshops, group programs,
private instruction, educational events, and any similar offerings provided by Umbrella Studios, whether
delivered in-person, online, live, or pre-recorded.
7.2. Booking & Payment
Full payment or a nominated deposit is required to secure a place in any course, lesson, or workshop. Places
are limited and allocated on a first-paid basis.
7.3. Change of Mind
Due to the nature of educational services and limited availability, no refunds or returns will be issued for
change-of-mind purchases.
7.4. Client-Initiated Cancellation
Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the scheduled start date may be eligible for a credit to be used
toward a future Umbrella Studios course or workshop, at the sole discretion of Umbrella Studios.
Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date are not eligible for a refund or credit.
Once a course, lesson, or workshop has commenced, no refunds or credits will be issued for partial
attendance, non-attendance, or early withdrawal.
7.5. Missed Sessions
Missed lessons, classes, or workshop sessions cannot be refunded, rescheduled, or credited unless otherwise
agreed in writing prior to the session.
7.6. Digital & Pre-Recorded Content
All sales of digital products, downloadable materials, and pre-recorded educational content are final. No
refunds, returns, or exchanges will be provided once access has been granted.
7.7. Studio-Initiated Changes or Cancellation
If Umbrella Studios cancels or significantly reschedules a course, lesson, or workshop, clients will be offered
either:
A full refund of payments made; or
A credit toward a future Umbrella Studios offering of equal value.
7.8. TransfersCourse or workshop places are non-transferable unless approved in writing by Umbrella Studios.
7.9. Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling in or purchasing any course, teaching, lesson, or workshop at Umbrella Studios, clients
acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Refunds and Returns Policy.
1. Minimum Numbers, Cancellation by Us & Refunds

1.1 Minimum attendance requirement Each course requires a minimum number of paid bookings in order to
run. This is necessary to ensure the course is financially sustainable and that we can deliver the quality of
experience we promise (including facilitator time, venue hire, materials, administration and support).
1.2 Right to cancel or reschedule If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to
cancel or reschedule the course.
1.3 Notice period If we cancel a course due to low enrolment, we will use reasonable efforts to provide you with
at least 5 days’ notice prior to the scheduled start date. Notification will be sent using the contact details you
provided at the time of booking (for example, email and/or SMS).
In the event of unforeseen circumstances outside our control (including but not limited to illness, venue issues
or force majeure events), we may need to cancel or reschedule the course at shorter notice. In such cases,
clause 1.4 will apply.
1.4 Refunds where we cancel If we cancel a course and you do not wish to transfer to a new date, you will be
entitled to a full refund of the course fees paid. Refunds will be processed to your original payment method
within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 10 business days).
If a course is rescheduled and you cannot attend the new date, you may request a full refund instead of
transferring your booking.
1.5 Limit of liability Where we cancel or reschedule a course, our liability is limited to the refund of the course
fees you have paid to us. We are not responsible for any additional costs you may incur, such as travel,
accommodation, loss of income or other consequential or indirect losses. We strongly recommend taking this
into account when making travel or accommodation bookings.
1.6 Why we have this policy Running our courses requires significant upfront costs and planning. This policy
allows us to:
Maintain high-quality facilitation and a supportive learning environment
Ensure the course is financially sustainable so we can continue offering it into the future
Be transparent with participants about what happens if minimum numbers are not met
By booking a course, you acknowledge and agree to this minimum numbers, cancellation and refund policy.
EDM PRODUCTION WORKSHOP SPECIFIC NOTES:
These EDM Production Workshop Specific Notes and Terms and Conditions supplement and, where applicable, override the general Umbrella Studios Terms and Conditions for this event.

Please note: this workshop requires a minimum of 6 tickets sold to proceed. If the minimum is not reached, the event will be cancelled and all ticket holders will receive a full refund.
Students will be notified via their nominated email addresses if the class is not proceeding 5 days prior to the workshops start date.

2. Recording and Photography Notice
​
2.1 Audio and visual recording
Please note that this workshop may be photographed, filmed, and/or audio recorded during sessions. These recordings may capture participants engaging in learning activities, discussions, and practical exercises.
2.2 Intended use of recordings
Any audio, video, or photographic content captured during the workshop may be used by the event organisers for purposes including, but not limited to:

Promotion of this workshop and future workshops

Marketing and advertising materials
-
Educational content and documentation
-
Social media, website, and digital communications
2.3 Participant consent
By attending the workshop, you acknowledge and consent to being recorded and photographed for the purposes outlined above, unless you notify the event host in writing prior to the workshop commencement that you do not wish to be included in any recordings. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate such requests; however, exclusion from all incidental background capture cannot be guaranteed.
2.4 Ownership of content
All recordings and images remain the property of the event organisers. No compensation will be provided for the use of any recorded material.

3.Age & Minor Participant Terms
3.1 Minimum Age Requirement
Participants must be 16 years of age or older to attend this workshop. Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete the booking and provide consent for attendance.

3.2 Consent & Liability for Minors
By enrolling a participant under 18, the parent or legal guardian agrees to all terms and conditions of the workshop, including those related to personal responsibility, media recording, and use of student work. The parent or guardian acknowledges they accept full responsibility for the minor participant’s conduct, safety, and adherence to workshop guidelines.

3.3 Media & Recording Consent for Minors
For participants under 18, consent to audio, video, or photographic recording must be provided by the parent or guardian. No minor will be recorded without this consent.
3.4 Right to Refuse Entry
Workshop organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any participant under 16, or any participant under 18 whose parent or guardian has not completed the required consent and booking documentation.
3.5 Compliance & Right to Refuse
If the organisers are not provided with sufficient notice, or if false or misleading information regarding a participant’s age is supplied, we reserve the right to refuse attendance without refund. This includes any situation where parental or guardian consent is not correctly provided for participants under 18.

4. Participant Conduct & Learning Environment
Participants are expected to behave respectfully toward instructors, staff, and fellow students.
Harassment, discrimination, unsafe behaviour, or conduct that disrupts the learning environment will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate or unsafe. Removal due to conduct does not entitle the participant to a refund.
5. Personal Responsibility, Equipment & Safety
Attendance at the workshop is at the participant’s own risk. Participants are responsible for their own equipment, belongings, and personal safety, including appropriate volume levels and hearing protection where applicable. Umbrella Sound Studio and course facilitators are not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal property, nor for minor injuries that may occur during the workshop.
6. Educational Nature of the Workshop
This workshop provides education, guidance, and practical instruction only. Individual outcomes will vary based on prior experience, effort, and continued practice. No guarantees are made regarding skill level, career outcomes, financial success, or professional advancement as a result of attending the workshop.
7. Intellectual Property & Student Work
Participants retain full ownership of any music or creative work they produce during the workshop. Umbrella Sound Studio and the instructors do not claim ownership over student work. With participant permission, anonymised excerpts may be referenced for educational or promotional purposes.

8. Schedule, Content & Instructor Changes
While every effort is made to deliver the workshop as advertised, schedules, session content, and instructors may be adjusted where reasonably necessary. Any changes will be communicated as soon as practicable. Such changes do not entitle participants to refunds unless the workshop is cancelled.
9. Attendance, Missed Sessions & Catch-Ups
Participants are responsible for attending sessions on time. Missed sessions are not refundable. Access to recordings, catch-up material, or alternative sessions is not guaranteed and is offered at the discretion of the organisers where available.
10. Force Majeure
Umbrella Sound Studio will not be held liable for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, power outages, or venue unavailability.
11. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a place in this workshop, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions, including all clauses related to minimum numbers, refunds, recording consent, age restrictions, conduct, and personal responsibility.
